One Jew Isn't Even Equal to 70,000 Muslims

Or is it "more than 100,000"?

Remember the attempt to smear Israel with racism when Gilad Schalit was freed and some people noted that "one Jew was worth more than 1000 Arabs"?

Here is Sayed Kashua in Haaretz:

An important speaker said on the radio that one Jew is worth a thousand Arabs, and this was a sign of the Jewish people's greatness. The broadcaster repeated his words in agreement.

And someone else not really important:

...the exchange of Gilad Shalit for about one thousand Palestinian prisoners will be just a footnote in the ongoing saga of Israeli Apartheid and its long list of evils. While Israeli society seems to be divided over the cost of the exchange, have no doubt, there is no dispute and no division in Israel over the important implication of the prisoner exchange: for them, it is yet another confirmation of Jewish superiority and a uniting feel-good casus along the lines of “we care about the life of every single person while they…” and “one Jew is worth a thousand Arabs”. They will smugly congratulate each other how much more humane and how much more human they are than all others. This feel-good celebration will surely be accompanied by a good measure of hatred and contempt towards the untermensch, a standard requirement for Jewish unity. The exchange helps cement the Israeli delusional belief in moral superiority...

Well, in reading this, I can't stop thinking that basically, since no Jew is permitted to pray in any section of the Temple Mount esplanade, nor recite Psalms or Lamentations, or express any overt religious ritual including swaying silently, what I learned from the below is that one Jew isn't even equal to tens of thousands of Muslims:-

Around 70,000 prayers gathered in al- Aqsa mosque to pray on the first Friday of Ramadan. Most of them were from Jerusalem, the Palestinians of the 48, and a few were from the West Bank....On Friday, the Israeli police allowed men above 40 years of age who carried a West Bank ID to pray in Jerusalem without a permit.  The women didn’t have any age limit. Children had to be above 12 years old and must be accompanied by one of their parents.

WAFA ups the ante:

The main story of the Saturday issue of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused on Ramadan’s first Friday prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City in which more than 100,000 worshipers participated in the noon prayers. This story occupied most of the front page of al-Ayyam, al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Quds, along with photos of worshipers performing the Friday prayer in the open yards of al-Aqsa Mosque.

But, at least, the visits go on:

Dozens of Jewish worshipers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque guarded by Israeli soldiers on Monday, the Al-Aqsa Foundation for Waqf and Heritage said.  Around 58 Jewish worshipers and 28 Israeli soldiers

toured the mosque, the foundation said in a statement. Such visits are provocative, particularly in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, the group added.

The Shalit thing is moronic as it is based on the belief that the Israeli government demanded it release 1000 prisoners rather than just 1 for 1 while Hamas was trying to talk the Israelis down.
